ABOUT US

The Connecticut Mountain Dulcimer Gathering is a place for mountain dulcimer players of all skill levels to gather for the enjoyment of playing the mountain dulcimer and advancing their skills.  While the gathering is focused on the mountain dulcimer, players of other acoustic instruments are also invited to participate.

Our goals are:

  • To play a lot of music
  • To improve our playing skill
  • To teach and encourage new players
  • To provide a forum where intermediate and advanced players can be challenged and continue to advance their skills
  • To increase the appreciation for the mountain dulcimer and dulcimer music in the community.
  • To have fun!

The gathering is the * third or fourth Saturday of the month from **11:00AM - 1:00 PM at the Cragin Memorial Library
8 Linwood Avenue  
Colchester, CT 06415-1104.

**From 10-11AM there is a special hour for new players. You will receive individual attention and assistance.You are then invited to stay for the regular Gathering.

* we aim for the 4th Sat of the month but switch to the 3rd if there is a conflict with the library or a dulcimer festival so always check the website for date confirmation.
